Vitor Abreu has 32 years of experience in the oil industry in petroleum exploration, development production and research, with a proven record in evaluating, risking and/or drilling in 22 countries and 31 sedimentary basins in 6 continents. His areas of expertise include projects in exploration, development and production of deep-water reservoirs, regional studies to define the petroleum system elements and key plays in frontier exploration, tectono-stratigraphic evolution of basins in different tectonic settings, maturing opportunities to drillable status, and play to prospect risking assessment. On research, Vitor is considered one of the world leaders on reservoir characterization of deep-water systems, proposing new deep-water models with strong impact in development and production.
Howard Harper received his B.S. from Ohio State University; M.S. from Louisiana State University and Ph.D. from Harvard. He worked for ARCO for over 20 years in various positions and as the Director of Stratigraphic Research when he retired. He also taught at the University of Texas as Dallas and has been the Executive Director of SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology since 2001. His work has included global stratigraphic correlation research and projects utilizing biostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy and other advanced stratigraphic techniques.
PhD from University of Liverpool. Exploration and production experience from both ExxonMobil and Statoil, having worked assets such as Angola Block 15, Chad prroduction, Gulf of Mexico Exploration, and a number of Norwegian continental shelf projects. Also worked Eagle Ford and Marcellus Shale Gas assets. Current position is Principal Geologist for ERC Equipoise Oil and Gas consultants in London.
